The popular TV series “Vikings,” created and written by Michael Hirst, was first released in March 2013. Having followed this saga-inspired story for three years, fans are now looking forward to seeing what is going to happen next.

The second patch of the fourth season of this popular historical drama is set to be released by the end of the month. We’ll see the main hero’s return to Kattegatt, but he is now a completely different person. Furthermore, according to News Everyday, Ragnar Lothbrok’s first wife, Lagertha (played by Katheryn Winnick) is going to have a rather fierce battle with Queen Aslaug, Lothbrok’s third wife (played by Alyssa Sutherland). This may be just a hint telling us the series will be even bloodier in the episodes to come.

When it comes to Season 5, it has been confirmed that it will comprise twenty unpredictable chapters. Much to everyone’s astonishment, it has also been rumored that Ragnar might die in the upcoming season, leaving his (ex) wives to fight for his throne. Lagertha, with whom Ragnar has a son Bjorn (portrayed by Alexander Ludwig), strongly believes she is the one who deserves the throne, for she is his first wife after all. However, Ragnar himself seems to prefer leaving his throne to Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Anderson). In addition to this, it is speculated that Lagertha will end up badly wounded after the confrontation mentioned above, so she might not even live to win the fight for the throne.

According to Jobs & Hire, these are only some of the numerous plot twists in the forthcoming season. Such statement is supported by the new trailer for Season 5, which History has recently released, that shows Ragnar committing suicide!
