The F&F spinoff Hobbs is being prepared and The Rock just shared a new trailer for it!

You are all aware of the conundrum that has been circling around the F&F cast, specifically Dwayne The Rock Johnson and the spinoff movie that has been in the works for his Luke Hobbs. The same spinoff should also include another important character, and that is the strangely lovable bad boy Deckard Shaw who is played by Jason Statham.

If you do not know by now, Hobbs will somewhat deviate from the F&F franchise which will continue on April 2024 with the Fast & Furious 9. As far as it is known, the spinoff (which doesn’t have an official title at this moment) will be released before the ninth installment of the F&F and the expected time is around the end of July 2019. We made a couple of articles about the spinoff, and the commotion it has brought to the F&F family, but this latest statement from Johnson shows just how enthusiastic he is about this.

He stated, “Pumped to expand and build out the FAST & FURIOUS universe in a cool, exciting way with our writer/producer Chris Morgan, producer Hiram Garcia and lead producer and my bigger twin, Neil Moritz.” Dwayne also added “Thank you UNIVERSAL STUDIOS for being tremendous partners who see the big picture and for coming to us years ago with this spinoff idea. Huge shout to my brother, Jason Statham, for the trust and wanting to create and deliver something fresh and bad ass for the fans.”

The situation between Johnson and Tyrese was the latest one that happened, and it got really intense. As most of you probably already saw, Tyrese is so angry about Dwayne going solo with the spinoff that he used his Twitter and Instagram accounts in a bunch of different ways to show his, for the lack of better word, unhappiness. In order to somewhat mediate the situation Dwayne responded by writing “I have a tremendous amount of respect for this franchise that I’ve enjoyed droppin’ blood and sweat in over the years and my vision is to create greater opportunities for not only my fellow FF cast mates, but for other amazing actors as well who want to be a part of something new and cool.”

He also continued by writing “I want to use my spinoff platform to create new characters that fans will ultimately love to have fun with in multiple chapters and platforms. Film, TV, Digital, Virtual Reality etc.. the more opportunities we can create the better for the fans. Smart business.”

Will this logic really be smart business like Dwayne stated or will it finally be a nail in the coffin for the family and the F&F franchise which still struggles to get over the loss of a beloved brother Paul Walker? Stay tuned for new info and details.
