Supergirl is a superhero action-adventure TV series which first aired on CBS in October 2015, and it was developed by Ali Adler, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg. The series became popular immediately, and it did not take that long for the creators to deliver the second season – it was released in October 2016. Needless to say, the series is based on DC character Supergirl. The main role in the show was taken by Melissa Benoist.

Now, even though the second season followed soon after the first one, the news on its arrival was not released for quite some time. To be more precise, it was only in May 2016 that Warner Bros. removed the doubts about Supergirl Season 2 and made an official announcement saying that the series would be renewed. Bearing this in mind, we have to say that they took us all by surprise when they decided to reveal that we should expect the third season before the second one even finished, as this was officially confirmed in January this year, only a couple of months after the Season 2 release.

As you probably remember, it was hinted in the second season that there would be a Kryptonian member joining the crew, but it was not hinted who exactly this would be. What we believe is that one of Supergirl enemies hides behind this mysterious identity – a Worldkiller Reign. You’re probably wondering who is going to take on this role in the series? Here’s an answer – we have found out that Odette Anabelle (known for Pure Genius) was cast for this part. In addition to this, we have also learned that Reign will not look the same as in the comics.

The director of this superhero series Andrew Kreisberg expressed how thrilled he was to have Odette as the part of their team. “Greg (Berlanti) and I have wanted to work with Odette for years. We are beyond excited to have her join our cast in the scary, powerful and heartbreaking role of Reign,” he said.

As for other cast members, it has also been confirmed that Katie McGrath will be there to reprise her character, but, unfortunately, Floriana Lima won’t.

Supergirl Season 3 Release Date

Even though the exact release date has not been announced, we are quite sure the upcoming season will see the light of day in October this year, as they will most likely follow the same release pattern. It is possible that it will premiere on October 2, or October 9, but these are only some guesses for the time being, so stay tuned for more reliable information.
