Mercedes-Benz will introduce their new pickup truck, which will be based on the Nissan Navara on October 25, in Sweden.

There will be a live stream on YouTube. On the already posted link, we can see the outlines of the new pickup truck on different surfaces which indicates that the new truck will be driven on various terrain types.

According to the German company the pick-up market is ‘promising’. However, when other pick-up trucks such as Renault Alaskan hit the market, it was also described as promising.

Management Board Chairman Dieter Zetsche will host the event together with the company’s head Volker Mornhinweg. Mercedes Vans boss Gorden Wagener will also join them in a presentation of a new car.
Daimler and Renault-Nissan Alliance’s factories located in Argentina and Spain will be used for the assembly of the new truck.

The CEO and chairman of the Renault-Nissan, Carlos Ghosn said:“The partnership between Daimler and the Alliance has grown and matured. By sharing development and production costs, we have been able to enter new segments and offer our customers more compelling vehicles with the latest technology and features at more competitive prices.”

It is expected that the new pick-up track will receive some unique parts such as engine options and suspension. However, the two cars, Navara and Mercedes, will share underpinnings. The new truck will be lower but wider than Nissan. Not much can be seen because of the camouflage.

Although the new pick-up is based on the Nissan, the cabin will largely differ. As the interior has also been camouflaged, there is not much we can say here. Mercedes decided not to reveal anything about the trims, but rumor has it that the top trim AMG will most definitely see the light of the day.

The starting price is expected to go higher than Navara’s £22,000. The Mercedes pick-up truck will hit the markets in Europe, Latin America, South Africa and Australia, but it won’t be available in the US.
