Dodge’s new beastly vehicle called the Challenger Demon will be unveiled in about one week, and we cannot wait to see it. While we are waiting for it, Hennessey has put in work and already produced Demon’s rival called Exorcist. Both the name and Hennessey’s press release clearly imply that this car’s primary opponent is the Demon, but on the surface, we are talking about the standard Camaro ZL1 with decals. However, under its hood is an LT4 V8 engine that produces 1,000 hp and 966 lb-ft of torque.

In order to come to these figures, the standard supercharger has been replaced with a larger one while an improved intercooler has been installed as well. There is a more aggressive camshaft while the engineers added ported heads, long tube headers and custom tuned ECU. According to Hennessey, the Exorcist can reach 60 mph from a standstill in under three seconds and a quarter of a mile in under 10, which is super fast. Hennessy will put a set of drag radials on sale to help you achieve these numbers, but this will set you back heavily, just like the rest of the package.

The complete package with the Exorcist decals costs $55,000, have in mind that this is the price if you already own a Camaro ZL1. If you don’t, the least you’ll have to pay for one of these is slightly over $118,000. The choice of automatic transmission instead of manual would set you back additional $9,950, but these upgrades come with a 2 year/24,000-mile warranty.

There are some other features you can add to your Exorcist and for $8,995 you can buy a drag pack with two wheels wrapped in Nitto drag tires alongside a floor jack, updated driveshaft and a tool kit. The road race pack is also available, and it includes a pair of lightweight wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and this addition will set you back $6,995. We should also mention that only 100 examples of the Exorcist will be produced each year.

The Hennessey Exorcist is a mean machine, and it will certainly give the Challenger Demon hard time. It would be magnificent to see and hear these two cars race!
