Giants Cut Marshall, Create Space For Dez Bryant

Upon leaving Dallas Cowboys, Dez Bryant made quite a few statements. The one that shocked Cowboys fans the most was: “I’ll see you guys twice a year!” Bryant has a desire to stay in NFC East to be able to conduct revenge against his former employers and prove a thing or two.

Just two days ago the possibility of him landing to an NFC East team was slim. Eagles and Giants didn’t have cap space nor need, while Redskins are not an option that would put him in the position to beat America’s Team. He desired to join New York Giants and to create atomic duo with Odell Beckham Junior.

In a turn of events yesterday, Giants released Brandon Marshall, and with one hit created both roster spot and cap space for Dez Bryant.

Interestingly, yesterday, Marshall wort on Instagram: “Sorry baby bro no room. @dezbryant.” This message came back to hunt him real fast, as he was released less than 24 hours later. After this happened, the chances of Bryant landing in Big Apple are higher than ever.

But, it remains to be seen if NY franchise has the same interest in Bryant as he is in joining them. When asked about the possibility of signing Bryant, Giants general manager Dave Gettleman said: “We’re interested in everybody.”

To heat up these rumors of him coming to NY Dez Bryant posted a workout video featuring him and Odell Beckham Junior. Pairing these two would create nightmare matchups for opposing defenses. According to NFL Network’s Nate Burleson Dez could put up numbers in New York: “If Dez Bryant is facing No. 2, No. 3 DBs, it means easy lunch for a guy like Dez.”

We couldn’t agree more. With Beckham as their first receiver and one of the premium players at the position in the league, every defense would put their focus on OBJ. This would give Dez space to dominate. Let’s not forget other players on Giants offense such as Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram. With Elli Manning behind the center and their strong defense, Giants would be candidates for the top of NFC East. Also, in the Draft which is less than one week away, they hold the No2 pick and are looking at RB Saquon Barkley. With him in the backfield and Dez and OBJ up front, Giants would have high aspirations in 2018.
