The most attractive man of the year has added one more success to his list. He hosted his “Rock the Troops” Special on Spike TV, honoring the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbour in December and, according to Variety, it turned out that its ratings were the ones to break Spike’s record for the first time in four years.

More precisely, 2.2 million viewers watched the holiday special! Seven Bucks, the company which was co-founded by Johnson himself and Dany Garcia, was in charge of its production. The location of the event’s shooting was the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii.

What might have made this military-honouring event the focus of many people’s attention is a great number of well-known guests, including George Clooney, Kevin Hart, Matthew McConaughey and Nick Jonas.

In October this year, The Rock talked about how the idea of filming “Rock the Troops” was born. He said that the main source of inspiration was his “boundless respect for the armed forces.” He also explained that his “boundless respect” stems from the fact that there are members of the military in his family. These were his exact words: “This December we will honor the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor and given that I have military in my family, vets and Navy SEALs, the goal was to create an event that honors our troops and their families in epic fashion.”

Furthermore, Johnson highlighted how important “Rock the Troops” is for him. He stated: “Seven Bucks Productions and I are privileged to have this opportunity to salute America’s finest and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for all their dedication, bravery, sacrifice and loyalty to our country.”
