Dak Prescott is an Elite QB Despite 2-3 Start

The season didn’t start brightly for the Dallas Cowboys. After the 2-3 start and a tight schedule ahead of them reaching the playoffs won’t be easy. Two victories that were recorded were against awful NY Giants and uninspiring Cardinals. The rest of the games, they have lost against Broncos, Rams, and last Sunday against Packers. They are currently third in the NFC East behind Eagles (4-1) and Redskins (2-2). So, the season doesn’t look promising, but none of the above is Dak Prescott’s fault.

Through the entire season, Prescott has been playing like an elite QB. As the campaign progresses, he plays better. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated that he thought that Dak had his best game of the season in 35-31 defeat vs. Packers.

Last year Prescott threw for 3,667 yards and had 23 TD’s. If he continues this season in the manner he started it; he’s on a route to 3,814 yards and 35 touchdowns. Take a look at the three last matches, and you’ll see that he amasses 107.9 passer rating, 64% completion, and has 686 yards to his name. This is enough for eight touchdowns and two picks.

After the Sunday’s match, Cowboys head coach Garrett said on Prescott: “He’s playing really well. He’s really doing everything we ask him to do. He makes so many plays within the scheme, throwing the ball to the right guy on a consistent basis. And then when things break down, making great plays with his feet and his arm out of the pocket. He’s really getting more and more comfortable in the offense. Trust me, he’s been very comfortable right from the start, but you can just see him taking more command of it. The guys around him respond to him. He was just really impressive [Sunday], particularly on that last drive.”

Despite Prescott playing up to his standards rest of the team just doesn’t follow. On the offensive side of the ball, Cowboys have gotten better with every game, but the defense just can’t get it together. On the last drive of the Packers game, they have allowed Aaron Rodgers to score a TD in a little over a minute to play.

Thankfully, the Dallas Cowboys are on a bye next week so that they will have time for fine-tuning. Also, after missing last two games due to injury Sean Lee should be ready to play vs. 49ers. And, you all know just how vital he is for this Cowboys defense.
