Asus ZenFone 4 Max – Dual Cameras for Less

One could say that Asus ZenFone 4 Max doesn’t really meet everyone’s expectations when it comes to what such a name as Max can offer.

Namely, Max Pro and Max are lower-end phones in comparison to the basic ZenFone 4 and Selfie. Depending on your configuration, they are powered by Qualcomm’s lower end Snapdragon 425 or 430 processors. Unlike them, other ZenFone 4 models use the Snapdragon 625, 660 and 835 CPUs.

Furthermore, the Max comes with the Pro version as well, while the “Pro” might come as a bit misleading. Namely, these two phones are almost identical. The only difference is that the Pro gets a bit higher-resolution rear camera, which is 16 megapixels in comparison to the 13-megapixel shooter, to be precise. Nonetheless, both devices contain a partnered 5-megapixel wide angle rear camera. Now, the only thing that the Max is superior at is battery’s life – the device packs a huge 5,000 mAh capacity.

Except for their metal unibody construction and those dual cameras, it can hardly be said that the Max Pro and Max stand out from the crowd. If you don’t feel desperate to buy an inexpensive dual-camera phone, the best you can do is to skip this one and buy the usual ZenFone 4 instead. Don’t let yourself get tricked by the Max branding, all you will be getting is a bigger battery.

The current price of the Max in Russia is 13,990 rubles, which would be around $235, £180 and AU$295 respectively.
