Allen Hurns Is Visiting Cowboys Today!

Could it be that Lady Luck smiled upon Dallas Cowboys? It just might be the case. Stay with us. America’s Team is on a lookout for wide receivers. Allen Hurns just got released by Jacksonville Jaguars. Hurns to Cowboys sounds like a dream come true. But, the catch is that he’s going to visit multiple teams and then decide where to sign. His first stop was supposed to be New York where he would talk with Jets.

Now, we say supposed to because his flight to New York was canceled due to weather and now his first visit will be with Dallas Cowboys. Things couldn’t pan out any better for Big D franchise. He will be with Cowboys staff and officials at Star in Frisco as early as today afternoon.

Allen Hurns still has plans to go to Big Apple, but Dallas now has a chance to talk to him first, and he might be persuaded to sign the contract with The Boys. He’s the third receiver to visit Cowboys after the two we talked about yesterday. But, among those three he is the one with most pedigree.

Hurns joined Jaguars from Miami University as an undrafted agent in 2014. After two good seasons, he signed a four-year $40.05 million contract with them. During those first two seasons, he caught 115 passes. In 2015 he had 1,031 yards and ten touchdowns from 64 receptions. That was his best season to date. During last two years, he has battled injuries, so his production declined. In 2016 and 2017 he has combined 74 receptions for 961 yards and five TDs. He missed 11 games due to various injury issues.

But, now he’s healthy and ready to up those numbers. Putting him on the field opposite of Dez Bryant would do wonders for Cowboys offense. But, if Dallas opts to sign Hurns, and draft a WR high in the draft, Bryant’s position might be in jeopardy.

Like you know Stephen Jones talked about Dez’s contract and the possibility of cutting him if he doesn’t take a pay cut. We’ll see how will this pan out but signing Hurns sure looks tempting.
