Alfred Morris Loves The Competition On Cowboys Roster

The Dallas Cowboys already have a top quality starter at the running back position, a true three down back that is young and more than capable of holding things together, carrying the load for this team while spending most of the game on the field. But, that doesn’t mean that the Cowboys shouldn’t have their backups ready in case something happens to him.

There is also that pending decision that NFL needs to make on Ezekiel Elliott and his situation with that domestic violence that happened last year. The rumors were swirling around that he might miss up to two games at the start of the season, so the Dallas Cowboys do have two guys that are good enough to replace him.

Everybody is talking about Darren McFadden making the roster over Alfred Morris not because of the skill, but because he comes cheaper. But, why not keep both? They can be there just in case something happens to Elliott, if he indeed does get suspended, they can also step in if Elliott is tired or in some special teams situations. Two veterans like that, who have been around the league long enough to be experienced are always good for a squad.

The running back situation is good in Dallas and Alfred Morris loves the competition. Here is what he had to say about that.

“Last year, my role started one way and ended up a different way, “Morris said. “So, that’s out of my control. I can just focus on becoming a better me each and every day. With the competition that we have, the depth chart that we have, it’s only going to make me a better player. It’s only going to make all of us better players.”
