Dallas Cowboys season ended with winning record (9-7) but this year that wasn’t enough to reach the playoffs. Their offense was a pale shadow of their 2016 performance and was missing its key player Ezekiel Elliott in six very important duels. Not even upon his return Cowboys managed to reach playoffs.

The other part of the team, defense, had brilliant periods of the game but at the moments they seemed like they were picked up on the street and brought to an NFL match. The main issues on the defense were injuries. Sean Lee missed a couple of games, all of them were marked by awful defensive plays. Another player that missed half of the season was David Irving partially due to injury partly due to suspension. Their secondary is still young, and they will need more time to gel and to perform up to expectations.

Spice all of this with bad coaching and poor in-game adjustments and you get another playoff-less Cowboys season. They will, of course, look to change this next year and with the growth of current players couple of free agents could improve Dallas roster.
