Rico Gathers is Ready To Be NFL’s Best Tight End!

Despite the fact that he played no regular season games for Dallas Cowboy, TE Rico Gathers is sure that his third year in the league will be one to remember.

Gathers has big goals in life and his NFL career and he’s not hiding them from the public eye. During the previous weekend, he posted a message on his Instagram account saying: “Facts is facts. It’s only the beginning. Truth is I’m Ready for more. Been ready for more. The dilemma of me not being ready is over. I got a piece of it last year and it felt so good doing it, y’all will never understand that feeling. It was like the most epic scene of movie before the power goes out in ya house for a few hours and you forget all about what you was watching. I watched those two games the other day and I told myself “Ima be the next best tight end in this league” and I believe that with all my heart. lol y’all continue to hate while I continue to shine I love y’all, y’all make me better. God Knows my heart and that’s all that counts to me.”

The games Rico is referring to are the two preseason matches from last August. During those matches, he recorded seven catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns. And it’s no wonder that he fondly remembers those games. Rico showed the talent and athleticism that got him drafted in the first place. If you remember during his college career, Gathers played basketball, not football. Unfortunately, during last years preseason camp, he suffered a concussion after the helmet-to-helmet collision and missed the remainder of the season because of that.

Rico Gathers was a six round pick in 2016 draft class. The 6-foot-6, 285-pound TE spent the first season with the practice squad, while the second one was supposed to be his breakout season, but instead, he was put on IR for entire 2017.

Now it looks that Gathers is ready to justify the faith put on him by Dallas franchise after being drafted despite not playing football since high school. With Witten returning for 2018 season, Rico will have a mentor on the team, and if he plays well enough, he might even be his successor.
