2018 Volkswagen Atlas Was Unveiled

The new Volkswagen crossover will go under the name of Atlas and it will determine the future of the company’s US division. Since we knew the details about this car before the official presentation, there were no surprises in Santa Monica, where the Atlas was officially revealed.

The new car is based on the MQB platform and it is slightly shorter than 200 inches. It is expected that this gigantic seven-seat crossover competes against Hyundai Santa Fe and Honda Pilot. The company offers two engine options. First one is a 2.0-liter turbo engine that produces 238 hp. The other unit is a VR6 3.6-liter rated at 280 hp. The car will be equipped with the standard 8-speed automatic transmission.

This MQB car has the largest screen ever inserted in it and it comes with improved connectivity features. Furthermore, the car contains the digital dash, which is some sort of Virtual Cockpit you can find in an Audi and post-collision mitigation, which keeps the brakes involved after the collision.

The 2018 Atlas is manufactured at the Chattanooga plant in Tennessee. This car will also reach Russia and the Middle East, but the Europeans won’t get to enjoy in this model. As of the China, a similar version will be produced by SAIC Volkswagen.

The prices should go from $30,000 to $45,000, but that is yet to be confirmed.
