2018 Toyota Tundra and Sequoia Shown in TRD Sport Trims At 2017 Chicago Auto Show

Toyota apparently loves to present its vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show, and this year they introduced the TRD Sport trim for both Tundra pickup truck and Sequoia SUV. What is even better is that we took a glance at these two models which had been refreshed for this year.

The ongoing Tundra debuted three years ago, also in Windy City, while the Sequoia has been updated several times ever since its release back in 2008. Now, both models will see some minor design tweaks and receive additional features inside the cabin. The 2018 Toyota Tundra will have a mesh grille insert, but not on all trims, whereas the 1974 Edition comes with a brand-new billet-style front grille.

Together with the 1974 Edition, Limited and Platinum trims have LED headlights as well as LED DRLs, while Toyota Sequoia features those on every model within the lineup. Speaking of Sequoia, the SR5, Limited and Platinum also come with a different and authentic grille insert.

Inside the cabin, Toyota upgraded the center console and modified gauge cluster that comes equipped with a Multi-Information Display screen. In addition, Toyota Safety Sense-P package can be found in all Tundra and Sequoia models as a standard feature. It consists of lane departure warning, radar-based adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection and automatic high beams.

Moreover, Toyota also presented the TRD Sport trims, and they can be purchased with either 2WD or 4WD configuration. The 2018 Tundra and Sequoia have the same 5.7-liter iForce V8 engine that powers the TRD Sport model. The output is rated at 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque in both vehicles. We are getting Tundra and Sequoia TRD Sport with Sport-tuned Bilstein shocks and TRD front and rear anti-roll bars. You can buy your Tundra TRD Sport either with CrewMax or Double Cab body style.

The 2018 Tundra TRD Sport also comes with body-color mirrors, hood scoop and 20-inch alloy wheels with silver and black details on it. In addition, it also has black headlight bezels, TRD Sport graphics along the bed, TRD Sport floor mats and shift knob. On the other hand, we have Sequoia TRD Sport that gloss black with a new grille and front bumper, black-satin finish TRD Sport and Sequoia badging and 20-inch wheels in black color. Among other features, you get TRD door sill guards, shift knob, smoked taillights and gloss black mirror caps.

Colors

The 2018 Toyota Tundra comes in five different colors – Super White, Midnight Black Pearl, Barcelona Red Metallic, Magnetic Gray and Blazing Blue Pearl. You can purchase the Sequoia TRD Sport in Midnight Black Metallic, Super White and Magnetic Gray. These two models with hit the market in September this year.
