Subaru is famous for upgrading the current models and market them as brand new, and one of those products is the Crosstrek which was unveiled back in 2012, and it has been popular among customers ever since. Even though five years have passed, there haven’t been any significant modifications to the popular vehicle that is based on the Impreza.

Speaking of the Impreza, the all-new model has been launched, and with this release, it was only a matter of time the Japanese automaker would present a brand new Crosstrek. This car is based on the Subaru Global Platform, and it has undergone some stylistic changes to make it more modern and more unique.

First of all, the headlights of the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek are narrower, and there are LED daytime running lights outlining the housing. The front grille lost the chrome trim in favor of black plastic, and its design is more rounded, just like the front fascia’s whereas black plastic is clearly seen around the fog lights.

What is carried over from the previous model is the large windows that provide good visibility for the driver and the black plastic fender guards. The new Crosstrek looks sportier because of the new and enlarged rear bumper, while the car’s headlights and taillights wrap around the body more than on its predecessor. The unfashionable small round taillights have been replaced with the new modern rectangular lights, and the engineers added bigger rear reflectors with more prominent black plastic surrounds that flank the rear bumper. On the roof, you can see a shark fin antenna.

2018 Subaru Crosstrek Interior

Inside the cabin, Subaru inserted a sleeker infotainment screen which has grown and you can also find vertically oriented center HVAC vents and a unique shifter with a leather boot and piano black surround. The seats are made of two types of fabric while the stitching is in a different color which provides a contrast. The stitching doesn’t only decorate the seats, but it also spreads to the steering wheel, center console, dashboard and door panels.
