Jaguar’s naming strategy sometimes doesn’t make any sense, and it may lead you to the wrong conclusion. You might think that the E-Pace is the new all-electric model, but that is not the case, as the new electric vehicle will be named the I-Pace. The Jaguar E-Pace will sit below the F-Pace in the range.

This prototype has been caught by one of the car fans, and the vehicle has been spotted in Tessenderlo, Belgium. It does indeed look like the new E-Pace, which is the smallest crossover in the lineup of the British manufacturer. By the looks of it, the new car has better proportions than its larger sibling, whereas some of the parts such as front grille will be taken from the F-Pace and placed on the E-Pace.

The interior will be equipped with the latest version of the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system that can be found inside the F-Pace as well. In addition, the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace will have an improved interior quality which will allow it to battle rivals such as the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Audi Q3.

It is interesting to mention that the new 2018 E-Pace uses the same platform like the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, with which it underwent some tests. Jaguar will offer a few 2.0-liter I4 petrol and diesel Ingenium units that will produce up to 240 horsepower, whereas a hybrid powertrain will possibly become available sometime after the official launch.

The public will have a chance to see the 2018 Jaguar E-Pace in its full glory during this summer. Stay tuned for more details and meanwhile check out the photos of the camouflaged model here.
