Recently we stumbled upon an interesting tweet, courtesy of ‘kurur_000’ who spotted a white 2017 Lexus LS in Japan. This vehicle was revealed at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in January. The difference between that model and the one on the photo below is that this one is the redesigned model. It’s quite interesting that Lexus set him free on a usual road somewhere in Japan. We considered the option of it being a test ride but still, on a public road… Very interesting.
The company’s LS lineup has entered its fifth generation. The Lexus LS was inspired by the concept of Lexus LF-FC which was displayed at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The Lexus LS will have a GA-L rear-wheel drive platform (known from Lexus LC 500) but with a longer wheelbase. When it comes to measures, this car is 206.1 inches (5,235 mm) long, 74.8 in. (1,900 mm) wide and its height is 57.1 in (1,450 mm). Its wheelbase is 123 in. long (3,125 mm).
The 2017 Lexus LS will be available to buy in two variations: LS 500 and LS 500h. The difference is that the LS 500 has a 3.5-litre twin turbo V6 petrol engine that will give you 415 hp (310 kW) and a torque of 442 lb-ft (600 Nm). It also features a 10-speed automatic transmission. The company will offer an all-wheel drive system in both models of the car. Now with the LS 500h, we have a more eco-friendly and budget- friendly option because this one is a hybrid. It features Lexus Multi-Stage Hybrid System. The powertrain consists of the 3.5-litre Dual VVT-i V6 petrol engine connected to two electric motors. All of that produces 354 hp (264 kW). When it comes to transmission the hybrid option will have a continuously variable transmission.
2017 Lexus LS Release Date
Features that are the same in both models are a 20-inch set of wheels, 12.3-inch infotainments system, 24-inch color heads-up display, 3D surround Mark Levinson audio system, front seats with 28-way power adjustment, heating, cooling and massage functions, reclinable and raisable rear seat and Intuitive Pedestrian Detection with Active Steering. This elegant car will be available to buy by the end of 2017.
